All harmonic behaviour in the Cycle can be understood through three variables, often referred to together as A/C/Q .
These are not moral axes. They do not judge intent. They describe how signal behaves once it exists.
Amplitude (A)
How Loud a Signal Is
Amplitude measures the intensity of a harmonic emission. High amplitude draws attention regardless of motive.
Fear, pain, mass emotion, and violent disruption all increase amplitude sharply. A civilisation may be technologically primitive and still dangerously loud.
Amplitude answers one question: How far does this signal carry?
Coherence (C)
How Ordered the Pattern Is
Coherence describes how aligned a signal is internally. Highly coherent systems produce clean, readable patterns — efficient, stable, and visible.
Fragmentation reduces coherence, but at the cost of durability and trust. Unity strengthens coherence, but sharpens readability.
Coherence answers one question: How readable is this signal?
Q‑Factor (Q)
How Long the Signal Persists
Q‑Factor measures persistence over time. A brief spike may fade unnoticed. A signal that endures for generations carves structure into reality itself.
Long‑held trauma, unresolved loss, and sustained cultural narratives raise Q dramatically — even when their origin is forgotten.
Q‑Factor answers one question: How difficult is this signal to erase?
Why Combination Matters
When Signals Become Dangerous
Individually, none of these variables are catastrophic. Together, they determine whether a signal fades quietly or fractures the Veil .
A civilisation with moderate amplitude, high coherence, and extreme persistence becomes impossible to ignore.
Engineering vs. Exploitation
Working With the Laws
Systems such as the Aegis exist to manage A/C/Q — not to defeat it.
Engineering redistributes signal, reduces readability, and stabilises persistence. Exploitation forces outcomes by amplifying amplitude at the expense of everything else.
The universe always distinguishes between the two.

Why Victory Is Never Clean
Power does not grant immunity. Sacrifice does not erase cost. Even actions taken to protect others leave harmonic residue.
The laws apply equally to individuals, orders, civilisations, and species.
